Getting the collection message across to the public
As the largest battery collection scheme in Europe, we know that the success of battery recycling ultimately hinges on the commitment of consumers. Thus we not only aim to provide an effective point of contact for all questions concerning batteries but also make use of the many channels of publicity available to us. This enables us to communicate the importance of collecting and recycling waste portable batteries. With our 2009 BATT Recycle Tour, we managed to reach people in 45 German cities and towns. We thus raised public awareness throughout the country of the need to recycle batteries and so protect the environment. By actively involving schools, we were able to awaken the enthusiasm of even the youngest members of society for our green collection boxes. Our website provides information on all aspects of our work and has been redesigned to better accommodate all interested parties.
